Alicia, It is not guaranteed that you will have a space if you just walk in. There are 2 sessions being offered on both days (1:30-3:30 and 4:30-6:30). You can register for the later session.

  7. Liz Mata says:

At our last Lead Teacher meeting they mentioned that on the 24th of September the training will not be Phonemic Awareness but CPALL training instead. We were also informed that if we signed up for the Phonemic Awareness we would automatically be signed up for CPALL when you all change it. The training is on a Professional Development day, so is the time going to be early or at 4:30?

    • ECH Team says:

Please sign-in up for the CPALLS+ EC0237. You will not be automatically enrolled. The session is from 1:30-3:00. You may also sign up for the Phonemic Awareness course on the same day EC0229 from 4:30-6:30 pm.

  8. Rosalinda Rivas says:

In light of the Literacy By 3 initiative the district is implementing, What is the recommended Reading/ Language Arts/Work Stations block? I know that beginning in Kinder and up it is 135 minutes. Will Pre-K be adopting the same amount?

Is the Week of the Young Child Celebration on 4/17th or is it a typo on the Early Childhood Training Dates Spring 2014? E-train is listing it on April 15th.

They can be found under the “Reporting Systems” tab, click on “Report Card Training Resources” and then you can download “Anecdotal Log” and “Observation Form.”

  16. Lisa Crouch says:

Are three year olds in PALS classes to be assessed with the Frog Street Assessment?

    • ECH Team says:

We do assess three year olds in the PK classrooms. For PALS students please refer to each student’s IEP to determine if s/he should be assessed. As a PALS teacher you have access to the Frog Street Assessment to use as needed for your students. You are not required to use the Frog Street Assessment as a PALS teacher unless you feel that it will be a useful tool to gain information on your students.

  17. Alethea Buris says:

My principal assigned me Student Measures. I teach Pre-K and a Kindergarten split. I was under the impression that Pre-K and Kindergarten were not going to have the Student Performance component (Student Measures) this year. Is that correct?

    • ECH Team says:

Under the tab – Principal Memos, download the memo on Student Measures to show your administrator. There is no Student Progress Measures for PK, K, PALS for 2013-2014.
