Kindergarten readiness is a predictor of academic success for students. Many entering Kindergarten students do not have the Kindergarten readiness skills necessary, which immediately widens the achievement gap between students as early as Kindergarten. In an effort to determine which Kindergarten students are entering with deficits and which are on target, the Curriculum department in collaboration with campus leaders and teachers have developed the Snapshot of a Kindergarten Student.
This snapshot provides information regarding the skills students entering Kindergarten should be able to demonstrate, what skills the student will learn in Kindergarten, and ideas for how to support the student at home. Click below to view the snapshot.
